General Conditions

• The official language of the German Math Olympiad is English and all exams will be conducted exclusively in English.
• Open to all students in grades 3 to 11.
• There are no age restrictions. Students must register according to their current grade level, not school enrollment year.

• All online round exams of the German Math Olympiad are completely FREE.
• Schools may register any number of students without restriction.
• The exams are conducted entirely online and there is no paper-based exam option available at test centers or schools.
• Exams can only be accessed through the German Math Student Account; no alternative exam links will be sent via email.
• Students must have a reliable internet connection, a camera and a compatible device (PC or laptop). The use of tablets and mobile phones is not permitted.
• Students unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances are not eligible for make-up exams.
• The use of calculators, books, printed materials and all other electronic devices is strictly prohibited.
• Exams are monitored through an integrated camera system; students must use a device with an active camera or external cameras.

EXAM STRUCTURE

The German Math Olympiad consists of 4 online rounds and 1 Grand Final in Berlin, Germany

EXAM RULES AND TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Students may use only blank scratch paper, pencils, and pens during the exams unless otherwise stated.
• The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, or similar systems, is strictly prohibited during all exam rounds.
• Participants are not permitted to search the internet, access external websites, communicate with other individuals, or receive external assistance during the exams.
• Screen sharing, remote access software, virtual machines, secondary devices, or concealed electronic devices are not permitted.
• Participants must complete all exams independently.
• The organizing committee reserves the right to review exam recordings, browser activity, timestamps, and suspicious activity logs for academic integrity purposes.
• Any form of cheating, impersonation, plagiarism, unauthorized assistance, or violation of exam rules may result in:
  → score cancellation
  → disqualification from the competition
  → revocation of certificates, medals, and awards
• Participants are responsible for ensuring that their device and browser function properly before the exam begins.
• Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the trial exams in order to test their devices and familiarize themselves with the examination platform.
• In cases of technical problems caused by the participant’s device, internet connection, or local system settings, additional time or re-examination will not be provided.
• By participating in the German Math Olympiad, students and parents/guardians agree to comply with all exam rules, monitoring procedures, and academic integrity policies established by the organizing committee.
