Guidelines and Instructions for the Qualification Exam-II on 26 September 2026

Trial Exams (FREE)
21-24 September 2026 (96 hours, GMT)
To help students prepare, check technical requirements, test their device cameras and get familiar with the exam portal, trial exams will be available during these 4 dates.

Qualification Round (FREE)
Exam Date: 26 September 2026 - Saturday
Availability Time: 24 Hours in GMT (not in local time) 

  • The exam will be held via the GMO student panel. No extra links or emails will be sent.
  • Please DO NOT CLICK START EXAM BUTTON if you are not ready.
  • Make sure that your laptop is fully charged or connected to a power outlet before the exam begins.
  • Allow access to your camera and screen sharing.
  • Keep all social media accounts (such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and all other applications closed during the exam (especially the browser translation feature).
  • Disable auto-updates and pop-up notifications that could interrupt your exam.
  • Open the exam in an incognito/private browser window using your email/student ID and password.
  • The trial exam will be available until 24 September at 23:59 GMT to allow participants to test the exam portal, their devices, and their internet connection.

Please immediately report any technical issue you experience by filling out the HELP DESK form via the German Math Olympiad homepage. You will receive a response as soon as possible. Also, remember to check your spam folder for responses.

Registration for the 2nd and 3rd Qualification Exams of the German Math Olympiad is still open.

Each Qualification Exam is independent. To qualify for the Grand Final, students only need to participate in one of the Qualification Exams.

If you wish, you can also participate in all three exams as additional training and practice.

You do not need to participate in the 1st Qualification Exam to take part in the 2nd or 3rd Qualification Exam.

All online Qualification Exams are completely FREE of charge.
